The «Avenue of Songs» is brought to life thanks to Garvan's speakers
«Avenue of Songs» (Viale dei Canti) is the title of the multimedia artwork to be inaugurated on May 26th at the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris, by the Ambassador of Italy to UNESCO, Vincenza Lomonaco.
The mural graffiti is located in Rue de Grenelle, right next to the Italian Institute of Culture, and reflects the fusion of the arts
in the name of the excellence of the Italian culture and craftmanship. The wall shows the renown lines from "Night Song of a Wandering Shepherd" by Giacomo Leopardi, interspersed by four 20th century poems by Alfonso Gatto, Leonardo Sinisgalli, Calogero Lorenzo and Bartolo Cattafi.
The composer Stefano Gervasoni realized the soundtrack to the Avenue of Songs, which will be played by six invisible loudspeakers provided by Garvan, integrated into the wall.
Realized thanks to the collaboration between artist Giuseppe Caccavale (who has represented Italy at the last Venice Biennale) and Stefano Gervasoni (one of the most talented composers of his generation), this work is a tribute to the fruitful ties between France and Italy.
